Volunteer Opportunities

In groups of six to eight people, volunteers pack bags of food for the Feed & Read (FAR) Program, working in an assembly line fashion for about 1.5-2 hours to pack all the bags. Volunteers must be able to lift 15 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.

Volunteers deliver the bags of food to local schools each Friday before noon during the school year as part of the Feed & Read (FAR) Program. Volunteers are expected to load their personal vehicles with approximately thirty bags and deliver them to an Albany City School, taking approximately one hour.

Volunteers to assist the Furniture Bank team with daily tasks, such as maintaining the warehouse, building furniture, and pick-up and delivery of furniture.
